The AFC-NFC Mirror

There’s been much made of the similarities between the Eagles and Patriots. Lost a lot of personnel in the offseason. Slow starts by both teams and star quarterbacks. Now both are the hottest teams in their respective conferences. But is it just me, or are there a whole lot of teams that have twins in the other conference?

Ravens = Panthers: Both knocked on the playoffs last season, but were shut out. Dominating defenses. Powerful running backs. Mediocre quarterbacks. Making playoff runs this season.

Colts = Rams: High-octane offenses, running backs returning to form of pre-injury greatness. Nobody believes in their defense, but they’re both on top of their divisions.

Steelers = Giants: Traditional football powers. Formerly-potent defenses have struggled. Quarterbacks are having down years. Both predicted in first or second place in their respective division are tied for last.

Bengals = Cowboys: Two super-coaches come in and turn the teams around more quickly than anyone could have possibly imagined. Ridiculed quarterbacks step up. Nice receiving corps.

Bills = Bucs: Perhaps you don’t remember, but the Bills once had the #1 spot in the power polls. Both teams started the season with the highest of expectations, and both have failed miserably.

You have any other mirror images between the two conferences? You think my analogies are loco? Jump into The Swamp.
