• Chipper Jones returned from the DL yesterday. He must have been extremely well rested because he went yard three times tonight.
• Pedro just didn’t feel like pitching tonight. 1 inning, 4 hits, 6 runs.
• Carlos Zambrano pitched 8 shutout innings. So what’s unusual? The 7 walks he gave up. Of course it was against the punchless Astros, as Roy Oswalt’s homer streak is halted at one game.
• Joe Theismann is still a worthless cumstain.
• Mike Tirico needs to get rid of that little patch right in the middle. It looks like Guam in the middle of the Pacific.
• Allegedly, Matt Leinart and the Arizona Cardinals agreed to terms on a six-year contract that can bring the rookie up to $51 million, Leinart’s agent said Monday night. He also gets his own private jet to go to away games, a stylist on the sidelines and three supermodels a season.
• Arenas is out for the World Championship.
• The most frequently arrested player (and that is saying something) in the history of The U has transferred out of the school.
