The weather in Mobile has been inclement over the past two days, and while the coaches and talent evaluators are probably happy they get to watch these prospects practice in such conditions, I’m sure the quarterbacks and receivers could do without the high winds and wet footballs they’ve had to deal with so far.

Pro Football Weekly published a roundup this morning that touches briefly on a number of player performances over the first two days.

And from NFL.com, Pat Kirwan gives his readers a nice peak into the South squad with a few names to watch.

From the coverage I’ve seen of both the North and South on the NFL Network, there are some real good offensive linemen in Mobile this week but the talent at the skill positions, particularly on offense, is lacking.

Early media darlings include Houston quarterback Kevin Kolb (pictured), who is likely to see his draft value rise from now until April, and Louisville’s 19-year-old defensive lineman, Amobi Okoye. Yes, Okoye started college at the age of 16 and is now eligible to be drafted into the NFL. He’s lost about 20 pounds off his college playing weight, but so far has shown decent strength, great quickness, and the potential to be a big time football player at the next level.
