This Manny Ramirez would kick your Manny Ramirez’s butt. This Manny Ramirez is 6′3 and 335 pounds, bench presses 550 pounds, and did 40 reps of 225 at the Combine.

This Manny Ramirez was a four year starter in the pass-happy offense at Texas Tech and is a mauling blocker. In the passing game, he plays with a low, solid base and uses his superior strength to stone pass rushers. Ramirez showed enough at the senior bowl to justify his reputation for being one of the best pass protecting prospects in this draft.

Overall, Ramirez compares well to guards Shawn Andrews or Edwin Mulitalo but Manny will have to prove he is a capable run blocker at the next level. He’s developed habits of overextending at the point of attack, which limits the range he can effectively block during a run play. There are also the usual concerns about stamina for a player of this type, but Ramirez adds value with his high football intelligence. During his last two years at Texas Tech, Ramirez called the line blocking schemes.

Ramirez is rated by ESPN as the 5th best guard in the draft, 105 overall.
