Grady Jackson Gets in the Grill of the Atlanta Falcons

And, yes, he’s still employed by them.

He’s suing the Falcons for invasion of privacy and defamation over the alleged release of his medical records during his free agency period before he signed with Atlanta last year. The allegation is that the Falcons violated his rights when information about his health surfaced after he failed a Falcons physical a year ago before eventually signing a free agent deal with Atlanta.

So, why is he suing now? When he is under contract?

The Falcons have a theory:

“‘We are disappointed that Grady Jackson’s agent has taken this action,’ Falcons vice president of football communications Reggie Roberts said by telephone, reading from a prepared statement. ‘We believe that this is a continuing attempt by the agent to gain a new contract for his client.’”

Oooooohhhh. That’s a good one. Somewhere Evil Incarnate (Drew Rosenhaus) has to be giving Jackson’s agent Angelo Wright a golf clap this morning. As efforts to re-negotiate contracts go, you grab leverage where you can, I guess.
