Two Days Later...

...and I am still in David-Stern-can-kiss-my-ass mode. Dan Bickley in the Arizona Republic is well worth a read this morning. A taste:

"For fans, this has become a series of torment. They are still stewing over Stu's ruling, and it isn't so much the application of the law. You can't argue that. It's simply the profound sense of injustice accompanying the decision. It's the net effect of rewarding a team that has been hitting below the belt all series. It's the realization that the league may have just stolen away a great chance for the Suns to win their first NBA championship."

That about covers it. And David Stern's smarmy defense of the indefensible all over the airwaves yesterday simply adds to the irritation. No wonder the NBA isn't taken as seriously as the NFL and even steroid-scandal-riddled MLB. At least in those sports, the games still feel fair.

In January 2003, a group of sports-loving friends launched The Sports Frog. In the time since, we have become an oasis for intelligent sports discussion on the Web. That's right, we said oasis. If you are here for the first time be sure to swing by The Swamp and join the conversation.
