Winning? Good clubhouse chemistry?
Which comes first?
And, if the winning stops, is it because of bad clubhouse chemistry, or does that foul chemistry come in the wake of the losing?
The philosophical questions are in honor of the Atlanta Braves, fresh off a crazy long run of winning, and, um, really good clubhouse chemistry. Like 16 years worth of each. And, it appears, with Atlanta now facing the other side of the winning ledger, the good clubhouse chemistry they have enjoyed has scattered like a frightened forest creature before a hunter. John Smoltz and Chipper Jones sniping at each other in the media? Unthinkable a few years ago, but the immediate reality in Atlanta this morning. Fascinating.
