Mark Cuban Has Gone Off the Deep End

I like Cuban, I do. No question about it, he makes the NBA more fun. I enjoy his candor, his blog, his accessibility. I like the way he irritates David Stern.
Which makes his behavior with regard to the failed Don Nelson/Dallas Mavericks relationship all the sadder. Because, as is summed up in the Fort Worth Star Telegram this morning by columnist Randy Galloway, Cuban is taking on the mantle of ultimate sore loser:
“Don Nelson is being sued by the owner of the Mavericks for using “confidential information” to beat his former team in the playoffs, and if an arbitrator agrees with this claim, then Nelson might not be allowed to coach again for Golden State. No kidding? Nellie, huh, knew the Mavs inside and out, and schooled his former team back in early May, touching off the biggest upset in NBA postseason history? In other local breaking news, it’s been raining a lot lately.”
Not sure what part of sporting history of such “confidential information” by ex-players and coaches being used against their former teams that Cuban is unaware of, but, good lord.
Thanks to swamp all-timer Ed Romero for the heads up to this column and the thread here in the Swamp. Drop by with a thought or two.
