I won't link it, since you can't read it unless you have Insider, but let's just say that Chad Ford's latest blog entry saying the Grizzlies are leaning to Joakim Noah at #4 overall has started my Friday off like a big wet fart in the face. I don't have words. Oh all right, here's the link. If you have Insider, enjoy. Unless you are one of the four remaning Grizzlies fans. If that's the case, prepare to be vomitous. Let me put it this way, three months ago I had hopes for Greg Oden or Kevin Durant and a GM who knew his ass from a hole in the ground. Now, I am looking at the very real possibility of Joakim Noah being drafted by Chris Wallace, who I am not at all sure knows his ass from a hole in the ground. What a fucked up sequence of events this has been. And, I think, potentially the bullet to the head of franchise.
Meanwhile, in Boston, the Kevin Garnett's a'comin' hopes are dashed (for those who were hoping for it, not every Celtics fan was) by Garnett's agent, who made it clear that Garnett has eyes for Phoenix and Steve Nash. Hard to blame him for that, although I still think his path to the Finals would be easier in Boston alongside Paul Pierce. As for the rumored activity in Boston, Gerry Callahan in the Boston Herald thinks Ainge is in too big a hurry to change Boston's fortunes:
"If Ainge trades 10 years of Al Jefferson [stats] and Corey Brewer or Al Horford for three years of Kevin Garnett, he'll be making a huge mistake. I'll say that even if I get cold cuts."
No worries, apparently, Gerry.
By the way, what about ten years of Joakim Noah. You'd do three years of Garnett over that, right?
