The Cowboys, Saints, and Lions begin camp today. More news from around the league:

  • In Minnesota, Tarvaris Jackson knows the offense, now it’s on him to show he can execute it this preseason.
  • Falcons head coach Bobby Petrino talks about his new quarterback, Joey Harrington
  • Meanwhile, at least one writer at the Football Guys Blog makes a case for a successful season for Harrington.
  • The Bears signed Charles Tillman to a 6 year extension. Lance Briggs is reportedly close to signing a 1 year deal himself. Rex Grossman is still the quarterback.
  • New Orleans signed their first round pick, Robert Meachem. Only 5 of the 32 first round picks have signed so far.
  • Oakland’s defense relies a lot on the pass rush of DE Derrick Burgess, and now Adam Schefter is reporting that Burgess is grumbling about his contract.
  • Jet’s guard Pete Kendall is expected to report to camp, despite his prior threats of a holdout.
  • Ben Rothlisberger talks about all the drama from last season
  • Michael Vick isn’t the only Falcon in trouble. Former second round pick Jimmy Williams is facing a pot charge, but was not arrested.
  • Tony Dungy thinks his team will be able to handle the retirement of LT Tarik Glenn
