  • Falcons RB Warrick Dunn is having back surgery to release discomfort he’s been dealing with recently in his back and legs. He’ll miss three to four weeks and allow Jerious Norwood to continue to show the NFL how good he is.
  • The Jags are less likely to sign Daunte Culpepper now, and will open their camp with the same questions at quarterback they had last season.
  • Veteran LT Jonathan Ogden was placed on the PUP list and will probably miss all of training camp. He’s expected to just be resting for the regular season
  • The road back for Kevin Jones is still going very slowly. Jones has condition that involves the tearing of the tissues that connect the bones in the middle of his left foot and isn’t even expected to practice with the team for a while.
  • As indicated yesterday, Lance Briggs signed a one year contract on Wednesday.
  • One of the top running back sleepers of this early 2007 season has signed a contract and is in Packers camp on time. And speaking of rookie running backs, Football Guys blog has a post up reviewing the recent history of rookie RBs.
  • The Raiders released Darnell Bing on Wednesday. This was an odd move because Bing has the ability to play a position that is becoming more and more popular in the league these days. He’s a rover type who can play as an in the box safety. I’m sure some team who uses that hybrid-type defense will give him a chance soon.
  • Former Vikings and Seahawks receiver Koren Robinson is still getting himself in trouble.
  • Kyle Turley is officially back in the league, this time with the Chiefs. How much trouble is this offensive line in?
  • Here’s the official release from the Chiefs concerning Priest Holmes return we heard about yesterday. The language included makes it sounds less and less likely that Holmes is anywhere near his earlier form or ready to be an impact runner.
  • The Titans have signed Eric Moulds, a receiver who apparently wasn’t productive enough to make it on the Texans.
  • Following up on yesterday’s link to the Football Guys positive outlook on Joey Harrington this season, Mike Sando, writing in place of Matt Mosley over at Hashmarks this week, has a post up comparing Vick’s and Joey’s numbers side by side. And another writer at FG followed up yesterday’s post with one predicting fantasy armageddon for Harrington.
