- For a guy who disappeared from the team after semi-retiring, I don’t think Priest Holmes’ latest comments about the LJ contract situation will really win him any friends in Chiefs camp.
- Saints LB Scott Fujita suffered a minor injury during a water park visit. He says he’ll be fine. Coach Sean Payton, in describing how the Fujita injury occured said, “Oh… it got a little competitive.” Billy Miller also sustained a cut over his eye but is fine.
- Notes from 49ers camp say that Vernon Davis has been “virtually unstoppable.”
- Ahman Green has shown the Texans even at age 30, he’s still
a hard-nosed and versatile football player. - Jay Cutler has been throwing too much. He’s been dealing with tendonitis in his right wrist and has been resting it a bit. Nothing major yet, just something to note in case it becomes a recurring problem.
- Reports about Jevon Kearse’s weight loss while coming back from his knee injury seem to be over now (image).
- A senior writer for ChicagoBears.com says that Cedric Benson has been running fast this preseason.
- Adrian Peterson expects to play Friday night.
- Joey Harrington says he was handcuffed by the Lions and is working to reinvent himself with the Falcons.
- Saints LT Jamal Brown’s knee injury isn’t as bad as they thought.
- Panthers’ WR Drew Carter is now slipping down the depth chart and Keary Colbert has been getting more 1st team reps.
- The Rams are (rightfully) excited about their new DT and first round pick, Adam Carriker.
- There’s real live football tonight; CIN at DET, 730 and IND at DAL on Fox at 8pm. Terrell Owens is expected to play, with Patrick Crayton starting on the other side as Terry Glenn is still injured.
- With more on what’s going on with the upcoming national tv games, Football Guys has a roundup.
