Brandon Webb is the Balls

Make that 42 consecutive scoreless innings after last night’s domination of the Braves. And, points to Webb for this quote after the game:
“‘Just two more shutouts – I should have that, no problem,” Brandon Webb said facetiously Friday night, drawing laughs from reporters who just watched the Diamondbacks sinkerball pitcher throw a third consecutive shutout and extend his scoreless-innings streak to 42 innings by two-hitting the Atlanta Braves in a 4-0 victory at Turner Field.”
Last night’s details? 102 pitches. Only three base runners allowed.
The target? Of course, Orel Hershiser’s 59 straight scoreless innings streak from his legendary 1988 season.
With Webb, reaching that mark is not out of the question.
