The Bronx is Burning - Finale

You would think a show about the most exciting season ever in Yankee history would be appointment TV at my house. Nettles, Reggie, Billy Martin, my favorite player Thurman Munson, knowing how it ends, I would have my ass firmly planted in front of the set. The opposite has been true.

I was 15 years old during the Summer of Sam. A city on the edge because of a serial killer. Say what you want about David Berkowitz, but he really did love his dog.

So why haven't I watched? Well I tried. I watched the first episode. John Turturro looks like Billy Martin and Oliver Platt seemed right on as King George. My problem was the commerical break every 6 minutes. Being a ESPN owned vehicle, the WWLIS decided to stretch out the series by adding hours of commercials between minutes of acting. I just couldn't do it. I'll get it from NetFlix in a few months. Thanks again ESPN.

In January 2003, a group of sports-loving friends launched The Sports Frog. In the time since, we have become an oasis for intelligent sports discussion on the Web. That's right, we said oasis. If you are here for the first time be sure to swing by The Swamp and join the conversation.
