Not Over Just Yet

It's a hallmark of the Wild Card version of MLB that the Yankees' wildly improbable come-back from being down 7-2 to win 8-7 in Boston last night in Fenway hurt more in Detroit than it did in Boston. And, yet, that's likely the case, as New York's heroics kept the Tigers 3 1/2 back of the Yankees in the Wild Card chase while pulling New York to within 4 1/2 of the Red Sox in the AL East.
Mike Lupica is pleased in the NY Daily News.
Nick Cafardo notes the season series trend isn't good for the Red Sox in the Boston Glode.
And, I note, that Alex Rodriguez had a hit in the 8th inning last night that would qualify as "clutch" no matter whose definition you are using.
The now-becoming-more-important series resumes this afternoon.
