Santana “The Goat” Moss

If you didn’t catch the big NFC match-up in Green Bay this afternoon, let me catch you up. Washington dominated the first half, but didn’t take advantage of it, with numerous drops and mistakes. They held a modest lead when Santana Moss took over.
He tipped a ball into the Packers secondary to give them an interception.
He fumbled the ball on a reverse which Green Bay took to the house for a go-ahead touchdown.
He dropped a 40+ yard pass that fell into his arms.
I don’t know if there’s anything else he could have done to lose the game outside of taking out a knife and slicing Jason Campbell’s ACL.
But the entire loss can’t be blamed on Moss. Just most of it. The rest of the blame goes to whatever wacky combination of Joe Gibbs and Al Saunders is calling the offense this week. After a quality first half of moving the offense, despite the drops, they reigned it in and did their best job of making sure they couldn’t score after halftime.
This is the same thing that happened in the Giants game, which Washington lost more than New York won. Playoff teams don’t lose these types of games. Washington is clearly talented enough to make the postseason in a mediocre NFC. But at this rate, don’t count on it.
How would you rather see your team lose? I’d rather not have my heart broken.
