It Draws Nigh

Baseball

The inevitable end, that is.

The Red Sox, ending the hopes of the 17 people who hoped that Colorado could still make a series of it by inflicting Coors field on Manny Ramirez’s defense, went up 3 games to 0 with a 10-5 win over Colorado last night.

A few thoughts from the eight combined minutes I watched:

1. It is nice to realize how cool it is to have skipped Tim McCarver this year. I made it a point to skip every Fox game nationally during the season and have missed him this entire post-season. It has been swell.

2. Good for the Rockies that the Holliday homer pulled them to within 6-5 last night in the 7th. That was one of the eight minutes I watched, and that was a nice moment for the Rockies fans. At least they got a brief window of hope.

3. Maybe it would have been easier to care about this World Series if the NL entrant were not trying to sell the public on Josh Fogg as a viable World Series starting pitching option.

Should you care to read it, Bob Ryan is still happy this morning.

For the rest of baseball, a fervant hope that Boston finishes this charade off tonight so everyone can get on to getting off-season news that impacts their own teams.
