It’s that time of year again. A time when cleaning out the storage sheds and closets finally becomes an option because there’s really nothing going on in the sports world.

I actually watched a few minutes of ESPN programming last night. But that was a short-lived experience, however, because I couldn’t stand seeing the crawl about Shaq and Kobe roll every 35 seconds.

So, since bitching about things is the theme of the day here on the frog, I’m going to bitch about how lame professional sports are by listing off a large proportion of the day’s wire headlines.

• The Shaq rap - cause if it’s good enough to lead sportscenter, it’s damn good enough to lead this list.
• Don Imus being both sarcastic and a wonderful human all at once
• Cedric Benson ordered to install an ignition-lock breath tester in his car
• Dwayne Jarrett pleads guilty to DWI
• Pacman Jones, taking time away from praying for Don Imus, wants to drop the Pacman nickname because of all the ‘negativity behind it’

• Horse racing still sucks, is evil, and has very little still good in it
• Two big college football arrests: One in Clemson after a safety on the Tigers tried to choke his girlfriend and another at UCF after a running back there was charged with ‘preventing or hindering firefighter equipment and damage of property’. And, yes, college football is a professional sport.

It’s gotten so bad, that a ‘is golf a sport or not a sport’ debate has broken out in the swamp. Cheers to the summer.
