The old man bogies two of his first three holes, and just as you want to write him off, with Ross Fisher of England surging to -4, Fisher hangs a snowman on the board at hole five. Looking for every shot through waist high grass like a guy who is lucky to break 110 at his local municipal course.

So, four holes into final round, -2 leads the way, Tom Watson and a grateful Chris Wood. And, given the wind and general bad scoring conditions, guys still on the course and finishing up who can get to around even have a shot at winnig the thing.

I would say it’s compelling television, but ABC is on a roll for shitty coverage. Not sure what their damage is, but they continue to miss shots or be late to shots amongst the leaders, and are doing a fuckawful job at re-setting the story as this thing unfolds.
