According to Yahoo’s Jason Cole, Raiders head coach Tom Cable may be arrested soon. And apparently no one on the staff knows exactly who is going to take over if that happens.

“Everybody is trying to figure out who’s going to take over if Tom isn’t here,” said an assistant coach, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. “John Marshall has a lot of experience, he’s probably the guy. But it’s nuts. It’s crazy when you start to really think about it.”

It’s not only that he might get arrested, and then can get released on bail, and coach until the trial has run its course. It’s that he will likely be suspended by Sheriff Goodell if he is arrested. And it might be a good idea to, you know, have a plan in place to replace him. Because your team has a game in seven days. So, um, you might want to get on that. Or not.

Of course, there’s always the in-house option. Pull a Ted Turner. Right in time for Halloween season (hat tip: sportshernia.com):
