College Football | Boise State - TCU
by Bronto on Saturday, November 21st, 2009 at 02:59pm
The Broncos ran for 323 yards in a 52-21 rampage over Utah State and are just two games away from an undefeated season and another BCS Bowl berth.
Are they really the #6 team in the country? That’s debatable, but granted, every ranking in college football is.
I’d love to see Boise State play TCU. Wouldn’t that be the most talked about non-MNC BCS game? Boise can throw and run against WAC teams, and I’d love to see what they could do against TCU’s defense. And doesn’t everyone want to see the Mountain West and the WAC match up in a bowl other than the Poinsettia?
But at the same time, it’s probably a better scenario for college football if they both play against a BCS conference opponent. Even though Boise may be overrated, the likelihood of a Hawaii-Georgia scenario is pretty low.

Your TV games:
South Carolina at NC State 7:00 est on ESPN
N. Texas at Ball State 7:30 est on ESPNU
#16 Oregon at #14 Boise State 10:15 on ESPN
Obviously, the last game of those three is the prize, but the ACC/SEC match-up to start the evening isn’t half bad. Fall unofficially arrives when toe meets ball at 7:00 this evening.
A few things to peruse as you wait for the games to kick:
—Ivan Maisel at espn.com with his take on the players and coaches to know and games to watch in 2009
—A Stewart Mandel mailbag on si.com with further words on Michigan and practices among other thoughts. What’s happening at Michigan is what’s happening everywhere, say Ohio State players, coming to the defense of Rich Rodriguez.
—Mark Kriegel at foxsports.com on USC back-up qb Mitch Mustain (transferee from Arkansas a few years back) who is hoping to follow the improbable Matt Cassell path to the NFL
We’ll be discussing the games tonight and all weekend in the Swamp here. Drop by with a thought or two.
