MLS is All Growns Up?

Negotiations with a city/region for a new facility for a member going poorly? Take a page from the NFL, MLB, and NBA’s well-worn playbook and threaten to relocate the team?
Yes and yes.
Hard to imagine it is in MLS’ best interest to let DC United become Some Other City United, but that’s apparently on the table, per an interview given to the Washington Post. It is likely necessary posturing, but, hey, congrats to MLS for having arrived at a position where they think the threat of moving will get them the deal their local team needs. Only problem will be if the DC area really does decide it can live without professional soccer.
