Seriously.

This is ridiculous. My immediate reaction is to blame Lane Kiffin, but this sounds like USC had been recruiting Sills for a while, so Pete Carroll can’t immediately be absolved either.

I realize that this has happened in college basketball before, but this has got to stop. However, given that these are verbal commitments, I don’t know what you could do to really enforce any regulations.

USC vs. Oklahoma

Undoubtedly was a popular National Championship pick at the beginning of the year.

Flash forward to today, and it was looking like a likely Sun Bowl matchup.

Now? Well, USC may still roll into El Paso, but Oklahoma is looking less worthy of the Sun Bowl.

Seriously.

Yes, OU has been ravaged by injuries. Everyone knows about Sam Bradford, and most serious fans know that Jermaine Gresham is out for the year as well. The offensive line–thin to start with–has been decimated by injuries too, and Ryan Broyles, the Sooners’ top returning receiver, also missed time due to injury.

Landry Jones has been ineffective and inconsistent when he does have time to throw, and has made a lot of decisions that you would expect a freshman quarterback to make, and the only thing saving Oklahoma from a six loss season may be Zac Robinson’s concussion if it keeps him out of next week’s Bedlam game.

The Sooners in the Independence Bowl. Who’da thunk it?

(OU is down 21 right now with two minutes to go in the third quarter against Texas Tech. Just watch them come back)
